EDUCATION

GORDON D’ARCY has been involved in environmental education since 1985. He has a great deal of practical experience working with primary level schools particularly under the Heritage in Schools Scheme in Ireland run by  the Heritage Council.  He has visited hundreds of primary schools across the island of Ireland teaching nature mainly through the medium of art and field trips. The overarching theme is environmental awareness through the use of the senses. NARTURE (2010) – a nature art manual for teachers is a compilation of the author’s experience of working with primary schools over twenty five years.

GORDON is also involved in third level education both in the Burren College of Art where he teaches the Irish Studies module and at NUI Galway where he lectures to Environmental Science students. He is a regular tutor on teachers’ and adult education courses.
